increasing youth opportunities

updates

Fath and Action Initiative (continued)

The FAA committee will also continue to fund faith-based agencies focusing on other needs of high-risk youth. In AY08 FAA hopes to bring a new focus on adolescent boys, ages 10-19 and a complimentary focus to Today’s Girls Tomorrow’s Leaders. FAA will provide agency grants that will improve staff competency, program practices, and agency policies.

Training, Technical Assistance and Evaluation

FAA will continue to support capacity-building opportunities for faith-based organizations.

  • All agencies will be encouraged to attend group training opportunities around the social- emotional needs of youth, gender-sensitive programming, development of mentoring opportunities, and connection with community-based mental health resources.
  • Select agencies will, however, be required to participate in these opportunities as part of their MOU.
  • Evaluation: All funded agencies will be required to submit outcomes measurement data.

FAA Grant Awards

As part of our commitment to providing youth with what they need to succeed, Faith and Action (FAA) seeks to reach some of our community’s most vulnerable youth. FAA reaches out to provide program grants to Faith Based Organizations (FBOs) serving youth in high-risk situations that face multiple barriers to success in under-served communities who do not seek help through traditional human services. Faith and Action grants provide funding and technical assistance to programs that are effectively meeting the needs of youth in high-risk situations and are designed to reach and involve youth outside of the existing congregations. The Faith and Action RFP is now available for responses from FBOs with programs and services that have demonstrated impact in the lives of youth who face multiple barriers to success.
