Young Minds Matter MECCS -- We are participating in the Commonwealth's efforts to promote school readiness. Needs Assessment -- We have developed an institute to provide, coordinate and evaluate mental health training for people who work with young children. Workforce Development-- We brought together experts from across Massachusetts to make recommendations to the state for a workforce development system for people who work with children. Our Impact Councils develop and monitor strategic plans, establish benchmarks of success and evaluate results. We will continue to expand our Council membership to include a cross-section of perspectives, ethnicities and disciplines. -- Recently, United Way and the Schott Foundation hosted Young Minds Matter, a summit aimed at moving Massachusetts toward better screening processes for young children's mental health issues, enhanced professional training in areas of early childhood development and new creative strategies to fund services not covered by insurance.
