healthy child development
We're improving the early education and care field by commissioning ground-breaking research and working with partners in government and education to enhance the quality of the learning experience for children.
Connected Beginnings -- We have developed an institute to provide, coordinate and evaluate mental health training for people who work with young children.
Young Minds Matter -- Recently, United Way and the Schott Foundation hosted Young Minds Matter, a summit aimed at moving Massachusetts toward better screening processes for young children's mental health issues, enhanced professional training in areas of early childhood development and new creative strategies to fund services not covered by insurance. This conference served as a resource for United Way's work in advancing the agenda to support children's social and emotional well-being. Read the conference proceedings here.
MECCS -- We are participating in the Commonwealth's efforts to promote school readiness.
Needs Assessment -- We have developed an institute to provide, coordinate and evaluate mental health training for people who work with young children.
Workforce Development-- We brought together experts from across Massachusetts to make recommendations to the state for a workforce development system for people who work with children.
