SEGL -
Taking care of children during the summer months

Summer Experiences in Greater Lowell, or SEGL, was established in the year 2000 by United Way and has since invested more than $600,000 in summer programming for children throughout the Greater Lowell area. Last year, SEGL distributed $100,000 to 16 local programs serving children ages six through sixteen, including the mentally and physically challenged population.

Thank you for visiting the website of United Way of Massachusetts Bay and Merrimack Valley.

This year has brought a number of exciting changes to our United Way and to the communities of Merrimack Valley. We are proud to announce that our merger has brought about a powerful partnership yielding a tremendous growth opportunity that reflects our shared commitment to increasing resources and building a strong, stable region. Many of the issues facing Merrimack Valley - such as affordable housing, workforce development and creating environments where children and youth learn and thrive - are issues that exist throughout our region.

The new organization includes 87 cities and towns and community investments totaling $34 million. In addition, United Way recently opened a new office located at 59 Composite Way, in Lowell. You can read more about the merger and the increased investment in Merrimack Valley by clicking the links to the right. As we combine the websites of our newly merged organization, I invite you to look around www.supportunitedway.org.

Thank you for your continued support of United Way in eastern Massachusetts. Together we can make a difference in the lives of the people and neighborhoods where we live, work and raise our families.

Sincerely,
