Volunteer with Youth Venture Program
Venture Advisor:
Join a group of your peers in overseeing the work of one Youth Venture Team! Volunteers will form small groups of four to five people and serve as mentors that guide and support a Youth Venture Team.
- Meet in November to get to know the other Young Leaders in your group.
- Visit the agency in December to get to know the Youth Venture participants.
- Participate in conference calls and site visits with your Advisor Group, twice a month from January 2009 to May 2009.
- Advise your Venture Team, help them through the process, and make sure they’re on track.
Dream It, Do It Workshop:
Help the kids brainstorm about the needs of their community. The Dream it, Do it Workshop on Saturday, October 18, 2008 brings the agencies together, encourages the kids to think about the meaning of social entrepreneurship. The groups leave United Way inspired and full of ideas.
Selection Panel
Coach the kids during their final run through before presenting to a panel of judges. Returning to United Way on Saturday, November 15, 2008 after a month of hard work, the groups with the most comprehensive and creative business plans will be awarded funds to see their venture through.
